Feeling lost on what to do?
We Offer Sleep Support
Sleep is such an important factor in all of our lives. If your child isn't sleeping, you're not sleeping! It also contributes greatly to our learning, memory and emotional regulation throughout the day.
Addressing sleep challenges at the outset of services also sets your child up for success in their other goal areas.
Supporting sleep is a bit different from centre-based sessions. There is a lot that we do in the day, from the moment we wake up, that effects how we sleep at night. In this sense, supporting sleep is often about gradually changing daytime habits, and rehearsing strategies for bedtime during the day. Some of this may be targeted in BI sessions, but a lot of it requires family participation for the child to be fully supported.
The Process
Medical screening: You will be sent a checklist asking about medical variables that could be impacting your sleep. This will inform personalized support strategies, or referrals to related professionals necessary for your care.
Sleep Journal: You will need to record several variables around your sleep routines for about a week. Variables will be customized to your priorities.
Assessment: An in-depth discussion about your child's current sleep routines, goals and priorities.
Goal Planning: Indirect time for the BCBA to draft a support plan, and we will adjust it together to make sure it's doable for you.
Implementation Support & Progress Monitoring: Check-in calls as needed to review progress or troubleshoot bumps that come up along the way.
